This was a 3 hour Bricolage Workshop that took place during Heritage week 2022 and was held at the Tipperary Excel Heritage Centre. For this sustainable workshop the materials collected dictated the sculptural outcome. The concept of this workshop was to create a 'Gloved Hand Sculpture' using the chaotic tradition of Bricolage which embraces a D.I.Y approach to using materials that are readily available. The finished piece was entirely constructed from recycled materials and pre-used textiles. Safety pins are visible and these hint at the designing process where fabric would be pinned together prior to stitching. The completed sculpture comprises of five individual pieces that represent the five fingers of a glove and was displayed in a vacant shop window in main street Tipperary Town.
